    2. Describe your race day.

      it was a good day.

    3. Did you PR?

I did, not quite the time i was shooting for but still PR'd

    4. How would you describe the course?

the course felt a lot harder than previous years, it was a bit harder to run on flat ground with the west bound lane being open to traffic.

    5. Tell us about your training.

A lot of hill training and HIIT

    1. Describe your race day.

Good overall, but too far to walk after finish to claim bag and too far to get to shuttle to parking. I personally saw 3 runners collapse after the race where closer distances may have reduced this.

    2. Did you PR?

      No & No

    3. How would you describe the course?

Good downhill course, but keep in mind that it starts above 10,000 ft and ends around 6,000 ft.

    4. Tell us about your training.

Did not do enough distance work

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Bring an ID with you so you can get a beer. Desperately wanted a beer, but there was no notice or information advising runners to bring an ID with them or prequalify for a beer afterwards. Was rather upset that a 61 year old thirsty runner would not be allowed to have a beer.

    6. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

None, too much walking to bags and shuttle

Please notify runners to bring an ID if they want a beer at the end or arrange for some sort or prequalification. This was not mentioned when I picked up my packet Saturday afternoon.

    2. Describe your race day.

Looking forward to seeing my friends cheering for me at the finish, and waiting for friends to finish. Many PRs yesterday in the group I was with.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes. 2 minute overall PR, and 5 minutes faster than the half I ran a month ago (first two races since being injured all last year).

    4. How would you describe the course?

Gorgeous. I like running this race without music so I can take it all in and not miss the beauty of the course.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I was not able to work in any downhill training for this race, and my sore muscles are not happy with that today.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Get some downhill training in. But most important, enjoy the run!

    2. Describe your race day.

The views were gorgeous the whole way! Crossing that finish line was the most powerful experience I've ever had. The signs along the way were gold and all of the volunteers cheering constantly was awesome!

    3. Did you PR?

This was my first race I got a time of 2:41:32

    4. How would you describe the course?

The views are amazing, it's all downhill so watch out for shin splints, and the turns are a little hard on the ankles but overall 10/10 beautiful and would defiantly race again!

    5. Tell us about your training.

My training wasn't intense at all, in fact my longest distance running before the half was 6miles. I did pretty well I think.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Run down the hills heel to toe to prevent shin splints. And watch out for blisters since the turns are not level your feet rub on your shoes differently than in training. Also, enjoy beautiful Colorado!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

FREE FOOD AFTER THE FINISH LINE!!!! Hahaha
There were cool pictures to take with signs too!

    2. Describe your race day.

Such a great day! Couldn't have asked for better weather! The race course was so very beautiful and when you felt like you couldn't go anymore all you had to do was focus on the scenery and enjoy! The shuttle went very smoothly and everyone on them were very friendly! My husband and I decided to run this race for our 2nd anniversary and we'll be back next year! .....maybe for the full....

    3. Did you PR?

This was my first half so yes it was a PR! I did finish 10 minutes under my predicted time!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Colorful Colorado! The first part of the half had three hills right off the bat, pace yourself! The rest is primarily downhill with some flattened areas. Coming into mile 8 I believe there was a pretty too long hill. The scenery was to die for! Nothing beats the views of the Rockies!!!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I enjoyed increasing my long runs every week. I also figured that, although a "downhill" course, there would be some hills. I ran long down hill runs and my short runs I involved hills. I can't stress enough how much his helped my training and endurance for the first 3 miles and coming into mile 8. Next year I will incorporate more short runs and more runs on pavement.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

After you cross the finish line, dazed and confused, make sure you grab the food they are offering even if you feel like you're goin to puke. Once you exit you cannot re enter that area. Although when my husband explained what a ditz I was to one of the volunteers they provided me with some awesome post meal snacks. I also put my flip flops in my drop bag and it was amazing to take my shoes off as we checked out the end of race festivities. Now that I know the drop bags make it back in such great condition, I'll throw a change of clothing in as well.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

The post race beer was fabulous!!!! Maybe it would be nicer if there were some chairs or picnic tables in the beer garden to make it a tad more enjoyable. We took pictures and talked with all the other racers. It was great to meet people from all over the country and hear about their experience! Oh an maybe coffee at the starting area ;)
My group came up from Canon City,Colorado.

    2. Describe your race day.

Our bus picked us up from our host hotel and took us directly to our start line. Super easy. The volunteers were super and the course was beautiful. I really enjoyed this race.

    3. Did you PR?

No PR, I was doing great but an old meniscus tear acted up and I had to slow my pace down.

    4. How would you describe the course?

A couple easy up hill sections but overall downhill and scenic.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I don't train at all. I am very active working on my feet everyday and found I don't need it. For most folks they should mind the downhill training pointers your web page focused on and go easy till mile four or five where the air is a bit denser.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Have warm clothing for the start area and definitely book a host hotel with transportation.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Coming from upstate NY we flew in three days early to acclimate to Denver elevation and hydrate well from the flight. We are planning on driving around the mountains and maybe take a trip down to Colorado Springs today.

    2. Describe your race day.

The race day was relatively smooth with the exception of the busing up to the start. It took over an hour for the bus to get there. Understood that it is a tough location to get so many runners to and may be the best option available. The course was beautiful.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, I PR'd by approximately 8 minutes and qualified for the Boston Marathon.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery is gorgeous along the course. Some of the grades are a bit steep and uneven causing a lot of damage to quad muscles, but that was to be expected. I like the mix of a few uphills to give the quads a break.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I ran half the course prior to the race, and think this gave me a better idea of the terrain and surface. Otherwise, mixed treadmill and outdoor running with varying inclines and followed a typical 18-week training schedule.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Get on the bus early. Be ready to shed layers because the top is much colder than the rest of the course.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I'm from Denver, so no exciting travel experiences.

Beautiful race and day. Everyone was helpful and there was enough supplies for all the runners.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes. 4 mins.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Just beautiful.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I didn't train much at all. I should have but I wrote the race off due to last year. I won't do that again but I will run more revel races.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Train. Train and enjoy.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      I live in Denver.

      Absolutely beautiful course.

    3. Did you PR?

      No

    4. How would you describe the course?

Stunning scenery. Smoking fast first 12 miles. Challenging middle miles 13-16, pretty from 17-20. Last 3 are great downhill finish.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Lots of downhill training helps. The REVEL Online Coaching workouts helped!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress for the end of the race - it can be much warmer than the start.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Traveled from Austin.

    2. Describe your race day.

What a perfect race! The weather conditions couldn't have been better and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Those downhills made for a fast race! I loved it!

    3. Did you PR?

YES! I PR'd by 17 minutes and beat my goal of 3:30 by 7 minutes! Boston, here I come!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Gorgeous scenery and incredibly fast course! There were a few slight uphills, but all of them were followed by immediate downhills which helped a lot with recovery. The last 5 or so miles were incredibly fast.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I probably would have done a bit more downhill training, but overall I feel that I trained well. I would definitely advise people training for this race to not ignore UPHILL training as well. I did quite a bit of uphill training and that helped me with the occasional hills.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't start out too fast on this course - it's hard to reign it in at the beginning since it starts at such a steep decline. But I saw many runners go out to fast and bonk toward the end.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Denver, so I didn't hang out in the area very long before or after the race.
