Train on a sloped road, take pictures of the beautiful course!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Just hung at the beer garden.

    2. Describe your race day.

Amazing race day! Perfect weather, great bus transportation, parking was easy, start & finish was great.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes!! PR in Half Marathon

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful, fast, plenty of space between runners, etc.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I didn't actually train beside normal gym workouts. Surprised myself at how well I did without training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Bucket list race!! Weather was perfect so didn't have any issues with clothing, etc.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Aurora so I didn't do anything different from my normal day. Went to brunch with a friend following the race (Snooze!)

    2. Describe your race day.

Scenery for the first 10 miles of the marathon was killer! Lull 10-16ish then better again. Amazing friendly volunteers. No Biofreeze at medical stops. Well stocked food and gels at water stops. Portalets were NASTY by the time us back of the packers were at the aid stations. Food at finish? I only saw bananas and cereal. My first marathon and was very sore when competed - the walk to the shuttle seemed SO far away.

    3. Did you PR?

One and done, baby! Does that count as a PR?

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful initially, then not quite as scenic in the middle. Quad killer!

    5. Tell us about your training.

None. Spontaneous decision. Half marathoner for years, decided on a whim the downhill scenic course couldn't be that bad....

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Watch out for your quads!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Nah, nothing really. Snapped a pic with the photographer with the scene set up, chatted with some runners and headed home.

    2. Describe your race day.

What an awesome event! I was one of the two crankchair riders. Except for being stopped twice by police officers who weren't expecting me, it was a fabulous, challenging ride. There was a slight snafu with cone placement at the finish, but nothing could detract from the great course and some of the best race personnel and volunteers I have encountered in any event. Kudos for a job well done!

    3. Did you PR?

This was my first crankchair marathon after having been blessed to be able to run many in years gone by. So, yes, a PR and one likely to stand for a long time.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful. Well marked. Simply awesome.

    5. Tell us about your training.

For crankchair the challenge is in handling curves at high speeds and being able to smoothly transition to cranking when needed/possible.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Just DO IT!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Centennial so this was just a great excuse to get up in the mountains and do something fun.

    2. Describe your race day.

Calm, fun and surprised by such a great experience. You all have taken all the things that I've not liked about other races and made them right. Thank you!

    3. Did you PR?

No but wasn't looking for a PR

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Fast and beautiful!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Today's race was part of ironman tri training so nothing specific for this race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Prep for a cool start wait, bring that nifty space blanket they give you for a reason and take long strides on the flats!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I'm a local so not much except took the time to walk along the creek back to parking (vs shuttle) to stretch out the legs and take the morning in

    2. Describe your race day.

I had a BQ today thanks to the awesome weather and more so the volunteers at the aid stations. The support from the police, sheriff departments etc. who support this event are to be commended!! The race director and crew made sure the runners experienced a first rate event!!

    3. Did you PR?

No--PRs are beyond me at my age (56), but I did BQ!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

This is a very tough course with the altitude and downhill, but experienced runners can capitalize on this course!! This was my 106th marathon and I know how to account for the altitude and downhill. I live at sea level, but can train for a course like this. The scenery was a great distractor when conditions felt tough!! I was not expecting the continuous downhill the last 4 miles and even with trashed legs it helped me get my BQ because I wasn't worrying about altitude :-)

    5. Tell us about your training.

I run a marathon every 6-8 weeks so know how to look at a course and train for the conditions the course has to offer. I did lots of hill training in humid conditions so was ready for the course today. The advice you have on your website about downhill training is good. People training for this race should include downhill repeats in their training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Just enjoy the journey!!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

My kids and grandkids live in Denver so we planned for family time!! My husband and I live in Hermitage TN so when we can combine a marathon with family time, that is just the best of both worlds.
