    2. Describe your race day.

Despite an early start, the race went really well. Transit to the top went well. Volunteers were great. Course is one of the best road courses I have run.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes. By 8 minutes over last year. BQ!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Great course. Very scenic. Only one segment which was less than stellar (through Evergreen). Good amount of drop.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Did numerous training runs on a similar course. Need plenty of downhill training. Could have used a bit more heat training (hard to do in Colorado in the Spring).

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Be aware that the top half is quite a bit faster than the second half. It may seem cool at the start, but you warm up very quickly.

The weather and course were beautiful.

    3. How would you describe the course?

It was beautiful, pretty much completely downhill, with a few small hills to climb.

    4. Tell us about your training.

My training was pretty on and off. I would recommend training for the downhill course if possible.

    2. Describe your race day.

It was very exciting since it was my first marathon, I had run a few halfs so I was new to the full, the organization couldn't be better, my only complaint would be why to park the shutyles so far from the finish line? We already ran a lot so that was not ok

    3. Did you PR?

It was my first so anything could be a pr, but my goal was under 4 hours which I did

    4. How would you describe the course?

AMAZING! The views, the road, the aid stations, water stations 5 stars guys, way to go

    5. Tell us about your training.

I am currently training for 4 Triathlons so it was challenging to mix and include the long runs along with biking and swimming but I follow a very strict training regimen that keeps me working constantly

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Do not underestimate the distance because is downhill! 26.2 miles are still 26.2 miles and train for it, incorrect landing will hurt your knees and hips. Staying healthy should always be ypur number 1 priority

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Recovery was very important so I just decided to hydrate and cheer my fellow runners at the finish line! Couldn't be happier to do so

    2. Describe your race day.

Great all around. Pacers were awesome, and the course is OUTSTANDING!!!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, by 6 minutes. Was not shooting for a BQ, and just did the half.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Scenic, fast, amazing!!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I run about 6 half's and a couple of full marathons a year, so nothing unusual for this race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

DO THIS RUN!!! Such a great event.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We just tried to keep warm and enjoyed the music. Afterwards we did photos and food. (Beer was not good at all, and did not drink it. Personal preference)

    2. Describe your race day.

This was my 4th year running the Revel Rockies Half Marathon. I have loved Revel since that first year, and think it has only gotten better and better and more "fine tuned" with each race!! I have also run Revel Big Cottonwood and am signed up to run next year's Revel Mt. Charleston. This year was no exception...Revel Rockies did not disappoint. Everything was well organized and well done! The buses to the start line were lined up and ready to go, and there were tons of them! We didn't even have to wait...just got on a bus and headed right up to Evergreen! The start line area was large enough to accommodate all of the half marathoners. I appreciate that there is water available and music to get us pumped up. The porta potty set up was a little confusing this year and they probably should've been set up in a straight line instead of the way they were. It created confusion as two lines started at either side, and the one line couldn't see the other which created people going for the same one at the same time from two different directions. (This is really my only gripe.) The course is well marked, and right on as far as my Garmin was concerned. Lots of course support, aid stations and porta potties along the way! The course is beautifully breathtaking and a perfect place to run this race. The uphill at the finish is a little "mean"...lol...but we all survived it! The medals are always fantastic, well designed and my some of my all time favorite medals. Kuddos to you guys on the medal again this year. It is stunning! The pizza and pie at the finish were such a bonus! Gear check is always a smooth process, and I have never had any qualms with leaving my bag. I have never had any issues with it! Well done on that too!

    3. Did you PR?

I did not PR (1:55:57), but I did do better than last year's time of 1:56:20...my best time for this course is 1:53:57. So, at least I am consistent...lol!

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course is beautiful!! Such awesome views for the entire run! It almost makes you forget that you are running 13.1 miles! The only thing that gets me every year is the hills...but then, who truly loves hills anyhow. The hills for the last .10 of the race feel like they are a mile lone...lol! Overall, though, I would truly be sad if you ever changed any section of this course...I truly love it that much!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I try to run a half marathon each month, so my training is pretty consistent year round. This year was slightly different as I had just run the Rock n Roll San Diego Half Marathon a week prior (on June 4th). I wasn't sure how my body would like running two half marathons that close together, as I have never done anything closer than two weeks from each other. However, I don't think it hurt me like I was thinking it would...and I attribute that to my training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

My biggest tip would be to take a thicker jacket for the start line, as it does get chilly! The silver blankets help, but a jacket to stick in your gear check bag is a must if you get chilled easily like I do. I also appreciate the gloves that Revel gives out. I wore mine until nearly mile 8!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live here...Colorado is a fun state period...so many fun things to do year round!

    2. Describe your race day.

Very early start to the day. The drop off to get in the bus went smoothly. There was a volunteer checking bibs to make sure I got on the right bus and also made an announcement on the bus prior to taking off. The ride up the mountain was smooth. The race itself was tough and unforgiving on the knees, quads and feet.

    3. Did you PR?

Nope. This was because of an injury on the course.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery is fantastic. I live up here in the mountains and the views never get old. The hills along evergreen parkway weren't as bad as I thought they would be. The grade at the start of the marathon is pretty steep. The roads were at a slant which put a little extra strain on the ankles. The race itself was well supported. Plenty of water stations and portapotties. The law enforcement directing traffic did a great job. There was plenty of water and Powerade during the race even for the back of the pack (I was concerned about it as I forgot to pull my water bottle out of my drop bag prior to the race). This was a well planned, well executed race. Thank you. The race itself was tough and unforgiving on the knees, quads and feet. My only suggestion to race officials is too put clocks at the timing points. I normally use map my run on my phone to track my time but I am guessing because of the mountains and going in and out of service my phone died at about mile 20.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I followed the higdon training plan. I am local here and was able to start 8 miles up the squaw pass road for some down hill training. I only did that once and could kick myself for not running it more to get my quads ready. I was able to include hills in my daily runs but ran mostly flat areas on the long runs that were 15 -20 miles.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train for down hill. If you are not 100 percent healthy do not attempt the Marathon. My knee started to give me issues a couple of weeks prior to the race but wasn't constant and I had put in a few painfree runs the week prior to the race. At Mile 15 is when the pain came back in my knee and I basically had to hobble to the finish line. The downhill is very unforgiving. However, the support for the race was awesome. Everyone was so nice and encouraging and I was asked multiple times by race officials (sag car) if I needed any assistance. I made it prior to the cut off. YES!!!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I am local. I had family in town including my sisters whom also ran the race. We hung out at the Evergreen Lake and did some fishing and kayaked.

Great race, and very good that there was cloud cover while running east at sunrise

    3. Did you PR?

No PR today ... first half since Halloween.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Just beautiful, but then I live in Evergreen.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Plenty of runs but not enough downhill runs.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Wear warm garments that you can discard or put in your drop bag for the beginning.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

    2. Describe your race day.

A cool morning which I was thankful for as the days leading up to it were not. The start area at the Half was well organized and large. A nice rolling start was a great warm up for the first two miles then a blistering downhill to get the run really rockin. I looked at my watch for 3 miles and 10K and couldn't believe I was running that fast! Ran the tangents well, blew through the aid stations where volunteers knew exactly how to pass cups of water. Portapotties at most of them and didn't need them. Beautifull scenery although I must admit that I was too focused to really admire it. Legs tightened up with two miles to go. Pain is temporary. Left quad and calves screaming. Finished sub 2. Fifth in AG. Very happy with my pace and time for this old girl who runs only trails and ultras. New kind of intensity with speed and distance. I waited for my friends at finish line so didn't get my beer. When we went to get one around noon they had run out! Not happy about that! Thanks for a great race tho. Get more beer.

    3. Did you PR?

      I guess. Haven't run a half in 35 years. So don't remember.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful if you like road racing.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Skied all winter. Little running. But I'm in good shape with a good running base from 2016. Didn't start consistent running training until April. Usually run 40-50 miles per week but late training saw only 45 miles one week in May. Two big training days - 19 miler 10 days before and a 24 miler 4 weeks before. All on trails with heavy elevation and altitude. This half was a good test of speed, mental strength and pain tolerance for my 55K in July.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train on downhills. A lot. Do a long downhill run of at least 10 miles.
Be prepared for any kind of weather. Having a drop bag at the start to leave warm clothes in was GREAT! It was really warm at the finish line in the morning where the buses picked us up but once at the start line it was a bit chilly. Thankfully I brought two jackets just in case. Glad I did. The drop bags are flimsy and not too big tho. Mine almost ripped and I saw others that did.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Visit with my girlfriends. Go to the Mexican place in Morrison after for great food and beer.
I live in the Lake Tahoe region so this race was an excuse to see my friends here in Denver area.
