I was very impressed with the drop off bags. I loved that we were given such functional things. The emergency blanket, awesome beanie for girls with the ponytail hole, and the gloves were awesome! I almost never use what I'm given in my bag, but these were so great. I was also extremely impressed with post race activities. I loved that half marathoners were given a free massage, there was pizza, bagels, Oreo's, etc... I felt like this race left me feeling very satisfied. To top it off, the shirts were awesome and the medal was stellar. The only challenge was just how steep the course was, but I don't believe that is something that can be changed. Overall, very, very impressive and enjoyable race! Would be happy to do again.

BEAUTIFUL. MAJESTIC. STUNNING. And incredibly STEEP. I wasn't prepared for the decline. But the beauty of the majority of the race made up for it.

I would do more hill training. I did slight hill training, but nothing that prepared me for the incredible decline.

Bring sweats to wear before the start. It was COLD. Bring hand warmers.

We came from Utah County, so we didn't do much before or after.

Absolutely wonderful! Loved all the stars and the beautiful scenery. The weather was perfect; water stops well maned. Very organized race loved it. Thank you.

I ran this in 1:37, this is not my first 1/2 with you guys and this is my time every year so I guess maybe?

Fabulous, loved the grade I am not even stiff and the scenery beautiful

Running a lot of uphill help me with a lot of mobility training and stretching. I did do some downhill, but downhill is easy for me.

For me running down fort Union is hard, don't run down the canyon to fast, make sure to pace yourself correctly and stay relaxed

I love how organized this race is! You do a great job!!

Yes! Beat my last PR by 20:09 (same race) and qualified for Boston!!!

Beautiful!! Weather was perfect. Very steep in some parts. The out and back was hard as usual.

I would highly recommend training on the course if possible (down the canyon and the out & back). I did that twice this year and it helped a lot!

It took a long time for my legs and hands to warm up so I would recommend keeping the gloves and and maybe wearing capris instead of a running skirt like I did.

Only came from Kaysville so I just went home :)

Excellent! My only complaint is that before the race there were no shelters for cold weather.

No, I wanted to protect my knees more than to get a PR.

Stunning, although the last 3 miles weren't my favorites.

Bring pats to warm you up before the race starts.

Early, dark, cold wait for start. Loved the easy transport to start, the beautiful, fast course, outstanding support from community, especially law enforcement for road safety. Nearly pr'd (my 25th) half marathon. Nice expo-love my shirt!!

So close!!

Beautiful, fast--downhill grade was very manageable (vs steep). Cool early race temps were lovely.

We stayed at Residence Inn and enjoyed our stay, nearby dining, and convenient bus service to start.

Traveled from Boise and needed to get back same day of race.

I loved the supportive volunteers. Thank you for having such positive people. And thank you for having well stocked aid stations.

Yes. First race. Slow and not worth mentioning a time though.

The course was beautiful and definitely a good first half to start with.

I did not train properly. I did cardio but did not focus on running. Before completing this, the most I had ran was 6 miles. Did not think I could finish, was impressed I did. To others I would say, train. And even if you think you can't do it, you probably can.

Bring pants to wear up at the top of the canyon and send back down in one of the trucks. I wished I would have had some. Spandex did not cut it in the warmth department.

It was great! Loved all the little signs down the mountain. It made me smile.

Beautiful scenery, and a nice grade till the last 3 miles. Which were up and down hill.

My race was tough due to injury , but I was able to BQ again by about 25 minutes. This is my third year in a row for the full , and I was lucky to BQ at all three times, even when the out and back was was longer. My favorite memory was the beauty of this canyon, and all of my running friends. Two of my friends stayed after their marathon and cheered me on.

I was a minute from PR. I think I could have done better if my calves hadn't cramped in the last 3 miles. Just grateful to have run.

The course is not the easy downhill that you hear people , who haven't run it , call it. I think it is challenging , but fun.

I train with Run4fun people and Hometown Heroes. I did quite a bit of trail running this summer to mix it up, and a few uphill races in Colorado , and a few peaks.

Not being an expert , I would just tell them to run All aspects of the course, to get a feel of what it would be like .

I loved the expo and went to lunch with friends . I happily ran the canyon during the summer , at a pace to enjoy the scenery . It was so crowded towards the end.
