    2. Describe your race day.

      Well organized.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, 30 minutes! BQ, blew my expectations out of the water. I ran a smart, paced race and felt great at the finish. 3:27 :) this is a must pace course, use smart pacing for the course and run your own race with what you know works for you.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenic, fast and downhill. Smart pacing wins the race you want.
      Painful recovery but worth it.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Consistent, log the long runs 20-22 milers at a slower than goal pace. Do the speedwork, the hills UP and down. Train slow to race fast :)

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Smart pacing! Know what works for you and follow it thoughout the race. You will naturally run faster with the downhills, so don't go faster at the beginning because it's downhill and you feel good. Without even trying you will bank minutes the first 15 miles. Bank those minutes and save it for the out and back and finish. Use a pacing band and follow it even if you're off on each mile. Use it as a guideline for each mile.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Trio restaurant Cottonwood and Current restaurant downtown!

    1. How would you describe the course?

I loved everything except the start of the half where it was jammed pack to run up and turn I averaged 7:40 minutwe miles and the first mile took me over 9 minutes due to only having access to half the road.. very frustrating start...

It is a great marathon to try. Downhill extreme and if you like downhills and nature it is for you.

    2. Describe your race day.

This is my 3rd time running the full. So, I'm well aware of the course, but somehow it managed to chew me up and spit me out. It's a very tough course and deserves respect for sure. I struggled but that doesn't have anything to do with race planning other than the difficult course. I have plenty of suggestions for the finish line, though. I didn't like that the only place you could get water was right after the finish and once they corralled you out you could go back in. I was dying of thirst and couldn't get more water. Also, the food at the finish is wanting. Pizza? Yuck. That's for the night before. Some good cold chocolate milk and some fruit (not a banana) would have really hit the spot. And could the course be rerouted to finish at a park so there's more flat grassy areas for runners to stretch and recover?

    3. Did you PR?

I set a goal for a 4 min PR. I PRd in April at Revel Mt Charleston and I had high hopes to exceed that performance. It wasn't in the cards. My finished time was about 17 min slower than my A goal, 13 min slower than my PR and 4 min slower than my course PR for BC. I did BQ by about 13 min though!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenery was amazing! The downhill section is tricky because you want to just coast down and there's not much left in the legs for the out and back and the finish. It is definitely a difficult course and deserves respect!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I used The Hansons method. I piggy backed off my my mileage base from training for Mt. Charleston in April. I trained 6 days a week, averaging between 50-60 miles per week. I believe my training was solid. I believe my bonk was purely mental and emotional fatigue due to personal circumstances.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Practice on the course, dress for the heat, stay hydrated and mentally prepare for the grueling trek of the out and back.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Watched friends cross the finish, then went home. I live in a Davis County.

They ran out of chocolate milk and everything else. I finished in 3:45 nothing was left but used towels, warm Powerade and water. I agree with you, up your game Revel and take care of your marathoners!

    2. Describe your race day.

I loved everything about it from getting up early, to enjoying the crisp mountain air, to watching the sun start touching the mountain tops as we ran down the beautiful course.

    3. Did you PR?

No, but I wasn't trying to. My goal was to enjoy the run with my mom, and that goal was more than accomplished. :)

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I probably would train at least a little next time. ;)

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train. Stretch. Stay closer to the middle of the road where the slant isn't as bad. (That is a lot of downhill miles at to do at an angle.) KT tape is an amazing tool.
Don't forget to take in all of the scenery.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in the valley so as soon as I finished the race I got to zoom over to my kids' soccer games.

Was a litttle cold at the top waiting to start. It was awesome having people cheering along the way and the fellow runners pushing each other to succeed. In all I was very impressed with how well the race was put together.

    3. Did you PR?

      This was my first marathon.

    4. How would you describe the course?

I enjoyed the course. Running down the mountains, and through Cottonwood Heights was great. I loved it!!

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Make sure to include downhill runs in your training.

    2. Describe your race day.

Revel is a company that caters to their half runners not the marathoners! I was so disappointed with the finish venue. I ran a 3:45 marathon, and after running 26.2 miles you need that post recovery food/drink. There was nothing left for the marathoners, everything was cleaned out by the half runners. This is the race directors fault for not planning accordingly! All that was left was warm Powerade and a pile of bananas. No finish line announcer calling out names. Runners were sitting in the ice water troff with the cold towels. I really want to wipe my face with a towel that's been sitting in the same water with someone's sweaty feet, butt and body. Dirty towels were being thrown back in, who knows how many people were sitting in there before I finished!? Volunteers didn't do anything about it! Unsanitary, unfare to other runners and unacceptable. Very disappointed in revel, they did NOT take care of their full runners on race day!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, but it's not entirely due to the course. I doubled my mileage from 30/week to 60/week and a lot of sprint work, tempo and interval running. I ran a Boston qualifying time, but missed my qualifying time.

    4. How would you describe the course?

When you read these reviews you only hear about the good. Mile 4 the loop around Brighton is steep and not fun, but wasn't terrible. Miles 19-23 the out and back on the large rollers was horrible. I maintained a 7:53 pace until mile 21. After my legs went up and down hill for 5 miles, they started to cramp at 23 after getting back onto Fort Union. I lost so much time and energy on that portion. I regret choosing this course to get a BQ on, I think I would've been better off with a familiar marathon only course like St George.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained 60-70 miles a week. Ran yaso 800s, hill work, tempo & interval runs, did double days 1-2x a week, and incorporated three 20 mile training runs. I averaged a 7:53 pace until mile 21. My splits that revel recorded were coming through 10 minutes slower than they actually were. Thanks for freaking my family out, they thought something had happened to me!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

If you're wanting to run a FULL marathon don't do it with Revel. If you're a half runner than do it, Revel caters to the half marathoners. I will never run a full marathon with revel again. I'm sure they won't post this honest review either.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Sat in the hot tub at the hotel and went out to eat to celebrate. I came to work not to party. Came from Logan UT about 1hr 45 min north of SLC.
