    2. Describe your race day.

It wasn't what I had expected. Although it was down the hill but it's still a hill race which is curved hurt my back really badly. The steep slop on 3-4 miles should be scraped out, I hated that badly.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes but did not meet it.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Tactic but well organized

    5. Tell us about your training.

I ran 20 miles once, 18 twice and several 13-15 miles practice but never a trail race practice. The closest I got to do one was the Dam Train trail race in midway.
I will practice more on hills.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Practice longer if you can go for more that 20 miles please do and make it a hill race.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Meet some interesting people with Amazing stories and the volunteers were awesome. They kept encouraging us.

    2. Describe your race day.

The beautiful run down the Canyon. All the awesome volunteers at the stations.

    3. Did you PR?

I did not this year, but good with my time.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful and will help you down the Canyon.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Training wasn't so good for me this year I only got up to 6 miles before the race. I would highly recommend you run as many miles as you can before the race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Layer for the wait before the race...it's cold up there.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Hung out with people before. I enjoyed my metal of course, food, drinks, and pics after the race!

Train for steep declines!! This race totally works your legs!!

    2. Describe your race day.

Overall it was great, however, corals would be great. The first mile was so congested and full of walkers that it was my slowest mile causing me to miss a PR opportunity.

    3. Did you PR?

      2 seconds from a PR.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Fast and beautiful. Would love for it to end at the base of the mountain instead of running though town.

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Take a throw away blanket or old towels that you can throw away before the race starts. These, combined with the Mylar blanket, will keep you warm.

    6. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Hot spring crater, rafting, heber valley cheese tasting, Sundance resort, zip lining and Gonzo sunset cruise.

    2. Did you PR?

Yes. by nearly 4 minutes. I did not qualify for Boston.

    3. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful.

    4. Tell us about your training.

Downhill training is a must. My wife and I took turns driving each other to top of our local hill and running down. I also was able to make improvements with the addition of interval training to my workouts each week.

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Run downhill. The more you train downhill the better.

    2. Describe your race day.

Pretty scenic run through a challenging downhill course.

    3. Did you PR?

      No

    4. How would you describe the course?

Serene, beautiful scenery until the last 5 miles of the course. Downhill grade was very challenging with some very steep grades.
Last 5 miles on Union street were anticlimactic and somewhat disappointing . Did not enjoy running in the middle of stop and go traffic.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Didn't really train for 18 miles of downhill. Went faster than planned but burned out at the end

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train downhill. Bring super warm clothes to where while waiting for race to start at Guardsmans Pass. It was very cold. Wish I brought a cap.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Visited Temple Square and did light hiking.

    2. Describe your race day.

This is the 4th year I've run this race and each year just gets better and better. The course is gorgeous, the volunteers are amazing, the swag is awesome, the medals are huge, and the finish line is a party. Best race in Utah!

    3. Did you PR?

      Not this year

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Gorgeous, fast, well organized, fun

    5. Tell us about your training.

I live in Salt Lake, so I like to train in the canyons for our Saturday long runs. You must build your "downhill" legs for this race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Just do it!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I drove 15 minutes from my house to catch the bus. One of the reasons I love this race is because its local.

    2. Describe your race day.

I liked the new start for the half. When we were in the campground we didn't get any announcements and last year we didn't know it had even started! The volunteers for this race are so great! They are encouraging and fun. It was a great race, beautiful weather and great course! My only complaint was that there was only one station with fruit for the half marathon. We would have liked a couple more stations with some fruit. We had nothing in the tank when we crossed the finish line.

    3. Did you PR?

      Nope!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful and course and mostly downhill, at least for the half marathoners!

    5. Tell us about your training.

We trained running down hills to get our legs ready

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train downhill! It is 10 miles downhill for half marathoners and 19 for full marathoners. Bring warm clothes for the start line. It gets cold that time of year in the canyon!!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We only live about 45 minutes away....

    2. Describe your race day.

Great day! I think this year we started a a better time and it was on time! It was nice that I didn't have to sit around forever. I ran 24 weeks pregnant and I finished.

    3. Did you PR?

I did not PR, last year I place third in my age division. But I am pregnant this year and was happy to race at all. :)

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful

    5. Tell us about your training.

Being pregnant I only managed to run 3-4 times a week, gradually increasing my weekly mileage. I ran a little downhill to prepare my body. Usually I'll run 6 days/week with speed workouts and long runs on Saturday.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train with downhill, have a long run one day each week. Enjoy your training and especially the beautiful course!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I helped volunteer with the bib pick up. I like talking to everyone getting excited about the race.
