5/5 Stars
This was my very first marathon. The race was amazing. Everything ran so smoothly, and the space blankets in the swag bag were so great at the start! The course was beautiful down the canyon, but that out and back is as brutal as I'd heard it would be. It was awesome to cross the finish line and meet my goal of a BQ!!
It was me first marathon, so yes! I also got BQ, which I barely dared to hope for. The canyon is fast!!
Beautiful down the canyon, and fun to float down the mountain. My downhill muscles were tired by mile 18 though. Painful the last 8 miles!
I ran the canyon multiplie time in training, which I would recommend if you live nearby. Longest run was 22 miles. Downhill training is helpful, but I'm still sore already!
Run this race! Dress warm for the start, and keep your gloves on fire the first few miles. The canyon was COLD even 8 miles down.
I live in locally. I pretty much ate lunch, went home and took a nap!
Very impressed with everything from the swag bag, well organized race, water/aid station, to the communication. Thank you for taking well care of us (runners) at the start.
No PR but qualified for Boston by 13 min.
It's much better than a couple of years ago where it started at Brighton.
A lot is downhill running.
A lot of downhill training runs.
Eating and shopping.
This is THE BEST race!!! I've done it many times!! So well organized, awesome support, etc! Thank you SO much!!
Yes!!! Not Boston but best time ever!
Absolutely gorgeous and well supported!
I would run more constantly next time. Family emergencies and foot injury limited some of my Training.
The last few miles are tougher than you think after running downhill for almost 10 miles!!
My hubby and friends went out to dinner to carb load together. It was awesome!
Wonderful! Super organized, great course, helpful and friendly volunteers and awesome post race food and event!
YES!!!!
Beautiful! Most amazing course I have ever run!
Run hills to train for this. I felt well prepared.
Enjoy the downhill!
We love taking pictures at the backdrops at the finish line!
Excellent race
Yes I did
Very beautiful and challenging at times
Run 6 days a week and lift weights 4 days per week
Be patient it will come, travel a few days prior to event and shoes are key I'm a hoka one one fan
Went to see Olympic village
The motivational signs weren't doing it for me.
No, last year I was 2 minutes faster in the same race.
Fun, beautiful, and fast.
More running required.
Buy an extra emergency blanket for the starting line.
Nothing much.
Fun race, thanks
The day was so smooth. Busses were on time, the packet has what you need to stay warm etc. I can't say enough good about what Revel has done here. The medal, the t-shirt, the packet, the expo... all great.
Yep!
Too steep. It truly is the definition of a double edged sword. I ran faster than I imagined. I was expecting to run about 3:15 and found myself with 30 seconds cushion on my 3:05 qualifying time with about .5 miles left... This is when I sustained a knee injury and had to walk to rest of the way.:) Still ran a 3:11 but some of those hills are DEATHLY. So steep.
I trained by doing a lot of uphill and downhill runs in neighboring canyons. Typical training otherwise... intervals and long runs. I would HIGHLY suggest running this course before hand or at least driving it and walking the steep parts.
It's cold at the start. Wear some layers. I then ran in a tank and was fine. The pacers are great. If you have a time you are looking for, they are indispensable. That first mile is REALLY fast though. I would take it slow and be comfortable and catch up to the pacer of your choice a few miles later.
Nothing really! I live here.:)
Perfect weather thanks for having it set up well and went very smooth.
No
Good but misleading that it thrashers the quads and calves much harder than runners realize
Take it slow till the out and back let the gravity do the work.
Awesome! fun and prefect weather!
Yes!
Love the course
Great trained with Lifetime Fitness Finish Line Training with Sylvia Bedford
Train down hill running a few times before this race
