    2. Describe your race day.

If you love downhill this is your race! The scenery was beautiful! The volunteers were so nice! I don't think I could've picked a better first marathon!

    3. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful scenery loved the rocks and how cool the canyon was, I love downhill! This race was most definitely not lacking in that area! It was an amazing sunrise from the top! Five star race!

    4. Tell us about your training.

I didn't really train but the best advice I can give is when your running make sure you keep your posture and don't try to slow down on the hills just let gravity take you or you'll have some sore knees and shin's

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Find a good pair of shoes that hug your feet well so you don't jam your toes! And make sure your socks aren't tight around your ankles

    2. Describe your race day.

It was like all the running gods blessed this day. The weather was perfect. The course was gorgeous. The canyon was fast. Best half marathon ever! And to the nice police officer giving every one high fives at mile 12...bless you. It was just the pick-me-up I needed to finish strong.

    2. Describe your race day.

Despite a pulled hamstring around mile 16, this was literally the BEST race I've ever competed in! (And no, I didn't pr, but I was on track to until my silly leg failed me) the change in start location for the marathon was much appreciated and very well planned! Thank you for an event that I wi continue to annually participate in!

    3. Did you PR?

Nope but close!! I was definitely on track for a pr, but as previously
Mentioned pulled a hamstring in mile 16.. However, even with thAt mishap, I still qualified for Boston!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Such a great course! It was great starting on a downhill, and the out and back being shortened was a great call!

    2. Describe your race day.

The race seemed really well organized, except we had no warning for the start and happened to wander over and see the race had started.

    3. Did you PR?

I did PR! Five minutes faster than my fastest half!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Loved the first 10 miles. I the last 3 were rough through traffic and the sun. Overall I really enjoyed it.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I didn't do much. I did a few 3 mile treadmill runs, but would probably have done better if I actually trained.

    2. Describe your race day.

Loved the gloves and Mylar blankets in my bag. Loves the scenery. Loved the fast course. There needed to be more volunteers. I had trouble getting my water. The finish needed chocolate milk or creamies =). Loved the cold washcloths at the end. That was the best!

    3. Did you PR?

No. But it was the fastest I have done in a long time.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Loved the scenery. The grade was a little extreme but loved what it did for my time.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I needed more hill training for this course.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Map out the start before hand. Google took me to the wrong spot. Made me very nervous!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Orem Utah

    2. Describe your race day.

Awesome. Perfect weather. Perfect amount of aid stations. The police officer patrolling at mile 12.5, was awesome!!! Cheering you on and giving you that last push!

    3. Did you PR?

I did!! It was awesome. I am usually a 8:35 min/mile. I did this race with an average of 7:30!!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful. The "s" curve in the canyon was rough on my ankles. But fun race.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I have been running 3/ days a week since January. I do 2 runs of 5 miles each and the 3 RS day is my long run, anywhere from 7-10 miles. I also lift weights 3 days/ week. I felt the cross training gave me more flexibility and strength/ endurance in my legs.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train train train. And have FUN. Cheer people on as you run.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Listened to the band and took fun pictures!

I liked the 2013 course better. I didn't like running down ft. Union and much preferred finishing at the business park at the base of the canyon

    2. Describe your race day.

loved how buses came to all the hotels and bused them directly to starting line
also loved how they started on time
loved the really cold wet towels after finishing to cool down with
      loved running with friends

    3. Did you PR?

      no

    4. How would you describe the course?

severe downhill first 3 miles, then uphill 1 mile, then even more severe downhill until miles 18. Mile 19-22 gets really hard after doing all that downhill fast running. During this time you run up and down hills. Very mentally and physically difficult. Loved ending going downhill the last 4 miles. That really helped a lot. The scenery is gorgeous, with the trees beginning to change to Fall colors. Enjoyed the scenery very much!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Trained consistently and did 2-20 milers in preparation for this race. I would have tried to find a steeper hill to downhill train on. My toes, calves and quads were not ready for the amount of intense downhill that we did.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Be prepared to have extremely sore toes, quads, and calves!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

traveled from Cache Valley, Utah. Enjoyed the expo before hand, and a high school cross country meet in Murray.

I would have really liked fruit at more of the aid stations from 16 on. Also- there was only 1 of the three aid stations that actually cut the small oranges in half so we could grab and easily eat them. The other 2 aid stations had the full small oranges to eat, but weren't even sliced in half. Not sure how they expected us to peel this on the run and then eat it? Great race!
