    2. Describe your race day.

Very nice sitting at the top of the mountain talking to the out of town runners. I was telling them how beautiful the mountains are.

    3. Did you PR?

      No

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course was pretty in the mountain area. My personal opinion is that people from out of town are not seeing the best of Utah. Once you hit mile 18 it is flat and ugly as you run past piles of dirt. Also running down the main highway is not cool. I would not recommend this race based on the dirt and highway. The rest of the course is pretty.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Followed a 3 month training course

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I would say this is not a race they want to run based on the dirt piles and running down a busy highway. Yuck

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Just chatted with friends

    2. Describe your race day.

As always I'm amazed by the collaboration of the volunteers, police, family, friends, organizers, bus drivers, photographers etc etc etc to make this run the best in Utah. I get to run this race with my kids and we will make this a yearly event for as long as we are able

    3. Did you PR?

No, but we were more interested enjoying the beauty of the route and enjoying each other's company

    4. How would you describe the course?

Magnficient. The beauty is like non other. This year the half had a new start which was odd, but once that was done it was perfect.

    5. Tell us about your training.

      Longest run was 8 miles.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Layer. If you don't want to tie a jacket or long sleeve around your waste when it warms up, wear something old and drop it.
I swear by Hoka shoes. The last 2 years I wore them and I don't have any hip pain, knee or ankle pain. They are ugly, but I love them!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We stayed at Solitude Resort- enjoyed the mountain beauty
      Came from Farmington Utah

    2. Describe your race day.

Absolutely beautiful course. Love being able to run down that gorgeous canyon. And the race as a whole was so well organized and I've never seen such helpful people at first aid stations. They truly care about every one of the runners. So happy I did this run and I plan on doing it again!!

    3. Did you PR?

I did not but I also haven't been training as well as I hoped. I did finish faster than I thought I would

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful. Breathtaking. Instead of focusing on the road I was able to look up and admire the mountains

    5. Tell us about your training.

I have always trained for each race about 12 weeks out but life got in the way of this race. Was supposed to be my first full but decided to to the half instead. Almost all of my training consisted of down hill training but I could have done more

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train. Train. Train. Running down hill is a totally different technique

    2. Describe your race day.

This is by far the most organized race out there. I love this race every time. It is beautiful! The free pictures, text alerts & the great finish line events are a great bonus.

    3. Did you PR?

Not this time but I didn't train much.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful run down my favorite Canyon.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I was a slacker with my training due to a crazy summer but I still finished.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Training always makes races more fun.

    2. Describe your race day.

I think you all did an amazing job organizing the event and keeping us safe. I would like the port a potties moved back to Spruces and Gu available at more than one station - but those are not huge deals. Thank you so much!

    3. Did you PR?

No. I had not trained like last time but still was satisfied with my race.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful until mile 9.5 (parking lot) then it is just ok. Hard to beat the canyon scenery.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I live nearby so ran the canyon a few times. I needed to run up top more and then mile 9.5-13 a few more times.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Run uphill to train. Need cardio build and quad strength.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live 4 miles away from the finish line. I like the time after the race in the vendor area. Thank you!

    2. Describe your race day.

The other runners were very nice!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes. Despite that I hadn't ran in 2 months and was under trained. I still managed to shed 25 minutes from my previous time.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful and fast

    5. Tell us about your training.

I hadn't done any running and working out since June. I don't recommend it.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Have fun and leave it all on the course

    2. Describe your race day.

The volunteers were great. Very enthusiastic! And I loved the scenery. It was absolutely gorgeous.

    3. Did you PR?

No, I did not set a PR, but I did qualify for Boston. I was 19 minutes off my PR

    4. How would you describe the course?

The downhill was brutal for me because I do not have any hills where I train, so it made for an interesting race. The scenery was breath-taking.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained 40-50 miles a week, but heat and humidity affected a lot of my runs since I live in Louisiana. I would do more long runs if I could go back in time. Training advice would be to work on running downhill.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't let the out and back from miles 18-22 fool you. It may very relatively flat, but it was the hardest. Also, don't try to slow down too much in the first mile, the course levels out. Also, just walk the hill at mile 3, it took too much effort to run since I didn't do any hill training. Lastly, bring throwaway gear to the top. It's cold up there!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

My fiancé and I flew in from Louisiana. We stayed close to the race finish. We didn't have much time for sight seeing but we enjoyed some local restaurants!

    2. Describe your race day.

Perfect! From looking at moon while waiting to run, to hearing the stream all the way down the canyon...it was an amazing experience!!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! New half Pr by 4.5 minutes!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful but challenge in the later miles!

    5. Tell us about your training.

At sea level with no long downhill segments available... crushed the quads daily to make sure they were strong enough!!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Bring warm clothes for the start!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Snow Bord Aerial Tram
      Park city
      Temple Square
      Olympic torch

    2. Describe your race day.

I loved the hour and a half for the bussing this year. However, the start of run up the canyon and back down was an absolute nightmare! It ruined my pace and I spent the rest of the race trying to make up for it. The course was so congested and it was really hard to get into a comfortable pace while dodging people.

    3. Did you PR?

No!! I missed my goal time by 1 minute.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course was beautiful but very congested for 3 or 4 miles. I think you should consider using the whole road and capping entries.

    5. Tell us about your training.

My training was all over the board, but I ran another half two weeks earlier and that seemed to help my stamina.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Train for the steep downhill.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We barely made packet pick up so we only had time to shop at Scheels. We are from Idaho.

    2. Describe your race day.

the experience was great. Transportation was great. Organization was good. I loved it.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful. The out and back after the canyon is brutal after having enjoyed the downhill of the canyon. On day after I am still dreading it :), but, I thought the course was good. I think it could have used some more variety at the aid stations, perhaps adding in some pretzels or something salty every so often.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I followed a basic training plan online and then ran Cottonwood canyon 3 times in preparation for the race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

DOn't race at the start! Save some gas for miles 18-23.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I am from here so I just went home and slept :)
