    2. Describe your race day.

Beautiful course but tough - especially miles 19-22. Day was a little warm. Excellent volunteers and police support. Good organization. Traffic was congested at the start line.

    3. Did you PR?

No - too old for that :) I was a few minutes off qualifying for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Starting area is amazing as the sun rises in the east. Down the canyon is beautiful but it is difficult to find the right pace in order to ensure you have enough energy for the last 7 miles. The stretch on Wasatch Blvd was difficult, especially being in the full sun.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Standard base during the week with long runs on weekends. Unfortunately I have been out of town for much of the last four weeks which threw off my training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Be careful on pacing yourself. The last 7 are difficult.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Nothing much before, hung around the finish line at the end which was fun.

Great race. I will likely run again and try to get my pacing adjusted.

    2. Describe your race day.

Everything about the race was amazing! From the aid stations to the volunteers. The finish line was amazing! I would do this race over and over and over! Revel makes the race seem that much easier!

    3. Did you PR?

This was my first half marathon I've ever done. I'm not a runner by any means but if I had a PR I'm sure I would have beaten that today!

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course was beautiful the whole way down! Beautiful mountain peaks shoot up behind wonderful trees and the sounds of a rushing river. The fresh air fills your lungs and the pure joy of running shines!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Unfortunately I must admit I didn't train at all for this race. I plan on training for next year! Then I'll neat my PR by far!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

This course does most if the work. If you're a beginner like me...take your time and let the hills do the work. Carbo load and enjoy the run!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Before the race it was a little chilly...but cuddling up under a blanket is perfect! After the race was amazing! Live music and great food is a great way to celebrate an accomplishment like this!

    2. Describe your race day.

Was amazing!! So grateful for aid stations and drinks and fruit. Huge help felt supported.

    3. Did you PR?

1st marathon just happy I finished.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Absolutely beautiful! Amazing-- not a fan of Wasatch that was the most challenging which was a bummer being towards the end. That was my body breaking down having to go up hill. It was a fantastic course.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Train more uphill -- I didn't expect that much. I trained downhill and it felt great. I need to prep more meal wise the week before and intake more water possibly. Train downhill for sure that saved me.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't do anything new day of race.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Local-- didn't do much but getting excited for race day.

    2. Describe your race day.

The race started great. I had a great pace going through mile 19 until the 4 mile out and back. That killed it for me. It was far too hot and I hated that 4 miles. This was my 5th marathon. I felt pretty well prepared but was pretty disappointed in the last 8 miles of the course.

    3. Did you PR?

No. I was on track to BQ but lost it at the out and back.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Running down the canyon was fast and beautiful. It was steep but I made great time. I really didn't like running along the traffic for he last 4 miles. I was breathing exhaust the whole time.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained hard. I'd add more downhill training and maybe some speed work.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Plan on being miserable for the last 8 miles. The fast beginning was not enough to make up for the crappy out and back.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      I traveled from Eagle Mountain.

    2. Describe your race day.

This is a great race, well organized. Beautiful course. The great helpers along the so helpful and encouraging. The best cop in ever in the last three miles standing there giving everyone high fives and telling them we got this. The 2:10 pacer who encouraged told me there's no walking and that I've got this and made me get through the last few miles.

    3. Did you PR?

I did PR. By almost 12 minutes, I only ran the half so couldn't qualify for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Love running in the canyon. The finish is in a good place this year.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I would train more consistently. I got injured and missed a few longer runs. But loved being able to do a practice down the actual race course. Did hill training but also a lot of downhill runs.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress in layers for the start while waiting up the canyon.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I got to the start just in time for the start of the race. In the finish I had my toddler with me and he loved all the tents for the food, drinks. Loved the handing out of cold towels at the finish and the sports massages. The music and sitting areas were cool also. Maybe sign things up a little better. I couldn't find the timing tent to get my time postcard which I missed. But otherwise really no complaint. The medals are awesome. Maybe go back to the drop bags you had a 2 years ago. Mine broke and I had to find a way to secure my items before the start of the race.

Utah county is where I live, and travelled from.

    2. Describe your race day.

I was undertrained so I'm glad I actually finished. Please put more porta potties at the first aid station. I had to wait 10 minutes in line because there were only 5. I saw only a few people waiting at the others. Aid stations were great and course was beautiful. Love that the swag bag included the foil blanket and gloves. Would've liked a few bonfires at the start to help with warmth or maybe hot cocoa

    3. Did you PR?

Nope, not even close due to lack of training.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful and SUPER steep downhills. I was unprepared for how steep some of those sections were. It was really nice to be out of the sun for the first 9-10 miles though but got really hot the rest of the way. More aid stations there would help!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I had some injuries I was fighting so I only did pne long run each week and only got to 9.5 miles. I did not train on enough of a downhill for this race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train on steep downhills so you are ready for them!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live close (Davis County) but with the early bus load window, we had to spend the night at a nearby hotel so we did dinner and that. The expo was fun but could've had a few more vendors.

    2. Describe your race day.

Amazing race. Scorching fast course. PR by 10 minutes and qualified for Boston! Beautiful course and very well organized. Highly recommend it! One of the best marathons I have ran in, and this was 13 for me.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, set a PR by 10 minutes. And I qualified for Boston by 8 minutes. First time qualifying for Boston in 13 marathons.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Very fast and forgiving. Lost my big right toenail it's so steep. Beautiful scenery. Perfect temperature.

Only drawback is that there are A LOT of half marathon walkers that you have to dodge starting at about mile 15.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Trained in high temperatures of Phx, AZ. Lots of flat running because that's all we have. But on the weekends I would go up and run down the hills on Usery Pass to get downhill training. Plus I did two weeks of Mountain running in WA Iin July with a ton of downhill.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Get downhill training in. Sorest muscles are not quads; it's my calves! They started getting sore around mile 7 and I was having to put Ben Gay on them every chance I got. Get good downhill training in.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Nothing. Only here for 24-hours for the race.

    2. Describe your race day.

It is a beautiful course and professional race. I ran the half marathon last year and loved it so much that I signed up for it this year. I gave it a 4 because it felt like there was less at the Expo and finish line compared to last year. It was still very nice and I will probably do this race again next year. The medal was big and beautiful.

    3. Did you PR?

I did get a PR by 2 minutes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

It's beautiful and scenic. I love the downhill even if it doesn't like me. The last 3 miles are tough, especially being out of the canyon. It would be nice to have the finish closer to the mouth of the canyon and just start higher up.

    5. Tell us about your training.

This was my 4th half marathon of this year. I have actually been training to run my first full marathon so this was kind of a training run for me to get ready for my big race. I have had some professional coaching on my running form that I believe helped me become more efficient.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Wear layers of clothing that can be stripped off before the race. It can get very cold up the canyon. Practice with downhill before the race.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I came from Kaysville. I enjoyed spending a little time at the post race area while I recovered from my run .

    2. Describe your race day.

Awesome Race. Best 1/2 marathon course ever! The weather was perfect. There was a nice tail wind the whole time. Just really loved this race.

    3. Did you PR?

No, but I came close. I definitely would have had I trained as well as I had planned to...

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful. The leaves were already changing, which was awesome. It is downhill, the entire time. It's just spectacular.
