    2. Describe your race day.

Awesome experience. Very well organuzed event

    3. Did you PR?

Older now. PR's in the rear view mirror. Just ran the 1/2.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Fast, not calve and quad friendly. Scenic until you leave the canyon. Slight upgrade in hill 9.5-11 miles not fun after quad bashing. Now I know to train better

    5. Tell us about your training.

LM entry to support daughter who was running full marathon Did this off base mileage and minimal training miles. Was not hard downhill prepared. My bad on that
Would have would have done long runs hard downhill and then qual training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Prepare for steep declines and train accordingly

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

None. Drove from Centerville at the appropriate time and boaded the bus

    2. Describe your race day.

It was a easy start with no crowding. My friend and I ran intervals and was able to pick up two additional people. We were able to help them get down the canyon and finish the race. It was nice have the people cheer my friend and I across the finish line since we were one of the last two runners across. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the finish line festivities since everything was already packed up and gone. We were a little disappointed with the finish line festivities.

    3. Did you PR?

I did PR by 5 min which was really nice to see happen. I did not qualify for Boston but that wasn't my goal. I just wanted to finish the race, which I did!

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course was beautiful, just running by the quarry was daunting, but being able to look out and see downtown Salt Lake was pretty.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained for 20 weeks with my long runs on Saturday morning. The longest run I ran was 20 miles which I ran down the canyon. I would highly recommend other runners run down the canyon for at least 3-4 of there long runs so they can experience the downhill.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Make sure you do a few downhill runs before the race so you know what to expect.

Please leave the finish line festivities open longer so the people the finish around 1 pm can still enjoy them. I trained hard for this marathon and was looking forward to the festivities at the end and was very disappointed that I wasn't able to experience it.

    2. Describe your race day.

I signed up for Revel Big Cottonwood to run my first half marathon and couldn't have had a better experience! The course is incredible! You run down Big Cottonwood canyon and can't stop looking at the vast rocks, changing colors of the leaves, and even the sunrise in the sky is breathtaking! The whole race is extremely organized, these guys know what they're doing! All of the race info was very clear and communicated well, this made me feel comfortable and prepared for my race! The day of was a blast! One of the most fun things I've done! The volunteers and Revel staff were energetic and made the atmosphere so exciting! I loved how there was music at the beginning and they really took care of us with aid stations along the course!! I LOVE my medal! It's huge and makes me very proud. I felt taken care of, and had the best race ever! I would recommend this race to anyone and will definitely be signing up again next year!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! Finished about 10 minutes earlier than I was expecting!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      GORGEOUS. So fun

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained running down big cottonwood each Saturday and felt very prepared for the course and acclimated to the downhill terrain. The farthest I ran before the race was 9 miles and I felt prepared and strong the whole race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I'm so glad I trained running downhill and trained on the course! Be prepared for the last 3 miles to be rough with a little up hill and flat stretches, and then the steepest downhill.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Loved the music at the beginning, had fun taking pictures and cheering on the other runners! I wish The wouldn't have shooed me away from the finish line as I was finishing on the other runners, but that is my only complaint. :)

    2. Describe your race day.

It was so much fun. I met a lot of people on the course.

    3. Did you PR?

      I PR'd by 22 minutes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery was beautiful. The grade was nothing I could have trained for at home. The last 10k is a heartbreaker. The hardest last 6 miles I have ever done after such a beautiful 20.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I live in Dallas and we did hill repeats but nothing is as steep as this race. Lots of squats and core work. I did track work for a 3:40 target and felt that if I hadn't I would not have gotten the 3:50. I tell people to build their legs up and work on their downhill running form.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Come in the day before. Dress for all seasons.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We traveled from Dallas so we went to Park City Running, met people running Wasatch 100, and just enjoyed the scenery. We really want to save sight seeing for Sun. We are all very sore and more tired than we expected so the sites might be limited.

    2. Describe your race day.

Great race, gorgeous scenery and perfect weather. Well organized.

    3. Did you PR?

No but I was running with an injury and actually hadn't run at all for 5 weeks prior to the race!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful, scenic, downhill, occasional flat parts. No issue with elevation.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Do quad and glute strength training! These were sore the next day. I wasn't able to train properly bc of my injury.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I wore a short sleeve shirt and roll down sleeves, but rolled the sleeves down quickly--could have done without. Carry water bc you get thirsty easily.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Visited Park city and went to Antelope Island and saw bison. Dinner at Red Iguana was great! Traveled from CT.

    2. Describe your race day.

The day was amazing. The views were unbelievable. I saw a moose part way down the hill, what an experience.

    3. Did you PR?

This was my first marathon. My goal was to take it in, have fun and finish

    4. How would you describe the course?

Quite steep in some parts, but manageable. The loop was a killer. Wedidn't care for that at all. The mountains and views were amazing

    5. Tell us about your training.

I spent a lot of time training throughout the summer. We are from upstate New York, so we had access to steep Down hills which definitely helped with this course. Doing leg lifts on the weight machine helped our quads and calves.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Hills, down and up ( darn that loop), weight training.
Take time to "revel" in the moment and take in the scenery during the race.
It was hotter than I anticipated, but fortunately cloud cover helped on race day to keep temps down.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We didn't explore much, this trip was really about doing our first marathon. We flew in from upstate New York.

    2. Describe your race day.

A great race... even with a lot of runners, this race is always organized and starts on time.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! My PR was only by a couple of minutes, but I cut almost 20 minutes off my time from last year.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Very pretty... lots of downhill the first 18 miles. I don't love the out and back on Wasatch, but it's doable.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I ran down the canyon a few times to get ready for the downhill and also did a couple of downhill races.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?
